José Monserrate Feliciano García (born September 10, 1945), better known simply as José Feliciano, is a Puerto Rican musician, singer and composer, best known for many international hits, including his rendition of The Doors' Light My Fire and the best-selling Christmas single, Feliz Navidad. His music is known for its fusion of styles: Latin, jazz, blues, soul and even rock, created primarily with his unique, signature acoustic guitar sound. In 1975, on his last RCA album Just Wanna Rock'n'Roll'' Feliciano released his well-known jazz-funk-Latin instrumental composition "Affirmation", which was re-released a year later by jazz guitarist George Benson on his hit album Breezin. In early 1974, Jose performed behind the Iron Curtain Prague, Czechoslovakia, sharing the stage there with Czech idol, Karel Gott.
Feliz Navidad is a Christmas album by singer/songwriter José Feliciano. Originally titled José Feliciano and released in 1970 by RCA Victor, it was reissued on CD in 2001 by BMG Heritage with all the songs of the original album (Christmas classics and Feliciano's famous composition "Feliz Navidad") plus three original songs added and recorded by José but never released on the original vinyl album ("Las Posadas", "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" and "O Come All Ye Faithful").
José Feliciano facts: Singer and guitarist José Feliciano (born 1945) is one of the best known Hispanic entertainers in the United States and a major star in the Spanish-speaking world. His trademark is his furious guitar work and ability to re-invent. His trademark is his furious guitar work and ability to re-invent rock classics with a Latin spin, as demonstrated in one of his biggest hits, "Light My Fire. José Feliciano was born on September 10, 1945, in Lares, Puerto Rico. His large family was barely supported by their father's work as a farmer. Feliciano!, the 1968 album that featured "Light My Fire," was just as successful, earning the guitarist his first gold album. Although that release was largely composed of songs written and previously recorded by other musicians, Feliciano was able to establish himself as an important artist by radically redefining the music that he recorded.

Rock'n Roll (I Just Wanna)". I don't wanna go to school Read and learn the golden rule I don't wanna work all day Break my back for a little pay. I don't like doing what I'm told I just want to rock 'n roll, yeah, yeah. They say, my life is just a game Living for a dream of fortune and fame But all's fair in love and war Try to lock me up 'n I'll knock down your door.
The Rock 'N' Roll album was recorded in two distinct stages. The first took place in October to December 1973 in Los Angeles with Phil Spector producing, and the second in New York in October 1974, produced by John Lennon. Mind Games had been Lennon's first solo album to be recorded without Spector. However, for the as-yet-untitled oldies project he reinlisted the help of his former collaborator
Released at the apex of his popularity, this was Feliciano's most successful album. It reached number two, largely on the strength of his only big hit single, "Light My Fire" (which is featured here). Soulful easy listening is an oxymoron, but this is about as close as that fusion gets to reality, with passionate vocals and virtuosic flamenco guitar.
