Sister is the third and final album by Swedish heavy metal band In Solitude. This is their second album to be released through Metal Blade Records having signed with the label in 2010, and was released on October 1, 2013. The album was recorded at Studio Cobra in Stockholm, Sweden in March 2013, and was produced and mixed by Martin "Konie" Ehrencrona.
Sister, their third album, is a marked attempt to stray away from being pegged as Mercyful Fate worship. But they haven't watered down their sound, and Sister is a mostly successful album. In Solitude are allies of black metallers Watain: they've toured the States with them, will do so again soon, and are both looking to broaden their fanbase.

In Solitude formed back in 2002 in Uppsala, Sweden. After releasing some demos and a solid debut effort, the band exploded into stardom with 2011’s The World, The Flesh, The Devil. After some unforgettable tours and a huge media push, there aren’t many metal fans who haven’t at least heard of the band in passing . Don’t miss out on what these guys bring to the table and certainly don’t miss out on Sister. Written by Nicholas Franco.
to a post-punk influence present throughout each of the tracks

In Solitude in particular, amazed the underground with the dark, complex at times, ‘80s heavy metal of their eponymous debut album, and the superb vocal work of heavy metal crooner Pelle Åhman. The departure of guitarist Mattias Gustafsson after In Solitude, combined with his replacement by Niklas Lindström, brought a mere shift in style in the follow-up album The World. In most cases, changes in style go hand in hand with adjustments in the album art, and Sister could be easily misunderstood as an unreleased album by early ‘80s post-punk/goth outfits such as Bauhaus, Joy Division and their peers. Truth is that In Solitude’s affinity for these sounds had already been revealed in their sophomore effort, but this time around, the Swedes from Uppsala make it quite clear that they were inspired by the said outfits, and that they are through worshipping other bands.
