Ray Brown Big Band + Milt Jackson = the best para-diddles, and flams + bop n' blues - What's not to Like! ..an upbeat, almost funky set of soul jazz tracks.. Milt gives a nice fat bottom to all the grooves, "Braddock Breakdown", "Uh Huh", "Sound For Sore Ears", and "Queen Mother Stomp" are standouts of Milt Jackson.. Here's a very groovy big band outing from Milt Jackson with The Ray Brown Big Band, off the top of my head I can't think of another release by either of them that matches the sheer good-time funkiness this LP manages to generate without losing their jazz origins or sensibilities. Featuring an all-star line up including Ernie Watts, Harold Land, Mike Melvoin, Wilton Felder, Earl Palmer, Joe Sample, Howard Roberts (#4-5-8), Paul Humphries & Victor Feldman among the many others... ~ ☮HЯ ✌
