From Chris Standring. Although I decided not to transcribe my guitar solos for this album (finding the time to do such an enormous amount of work becomes rarer these days) I did want to offer the music and arrangements so you can play along to the original album tracks, or have the music so you can perform these songs live in your own ensemble. Here's what you get in each of the 10 downloadable zip files: Album track minus solo guitar (tv track). Pdf of complete score. Pdf of gtr melody lead sheet + chord changes (notated).

But it's when Standring fully utilizes his newfound love of the string quartet that the album flourishes, whether it's the suitably amusement park-style waltz of "Merry Go Round," the skittering drum'n'bass of "Escapade," or the percussive new age of "All That Glitters. A convincing foray into new territory, Electric Wonderland more than lives up to its name.

Listen to Electric Wonderland by Chris Standring - a new album (release date: March 20, 2012) @ New Releases No. The success of Chris Standring's groundbreaking 2010 CD Blue Bolero, which topped several year-end lists and produced a No. 1 single, made it a tough act for the guitarist to follow. But Standring has managed quite nicely with Electric Wonderland, his brand new 10-song CD of original songs that fuses elements of Blue Bolero's orchestral touches with a deft jazz-pop touch that's been a hallmark of Standring's stellar career. I feel like it's an extension of Blue Bolero, but a bit more playful and upbeat,' says Standring. It also came out much dreamier.

Jazz guitarist Chris Standring reimagines his best. STUDIO CITY (1 May 2018): Over twenty years and twelve albums into his career as a solo artist, chart-topping guitarist Chris Standring had no interest in putting out a typical best of album. Although placed in entirely fresh contexts, Standring’s guitar work throughout Best of Chris Standring Remixed – whether playing an electric jazz guitar or nylon-string instrument – remains at the fore, melodically embarking on lyrical runs, dexterous embellishments and impassioned finger-work forays. A consistent hitmaker, the classically-trained guitarist basked in the glow of his Sunlight album last summer when it went No. 1 on the SmoothJazz.

Chris Standring (born 1960) is a British jazz guitarist known for his heavy use of 1970s-style musical nuances. Before launching his solo career with his 1998 album Velvet, he represented a third of the band SolarSystem, a band that combined elements of jazz and hip-hop. Hip Sway was co-produced with Rodney Lee in 2000. Groovalicious followed in 2003, then Soul Express in 2006. Love & Paragraphs (2008) spawned the title track hit radio single.
