AIM is the fifth studio album by English-Sri Lankan rapper and record producer . It was released on 9 September 2016 by Interscope and Polydor. Prior to its release, the rapper claimed that it would be her final album. worked on the composition and production of the album with a range of collaborators, including Blaqstarr, Diplo and Skrillex.

AIM is the fifth record from . released in September 2016 to a lukewarm response and poor commercial performance, although it did debut atop the US Dance/Electronic Albums chart. AIM is a more personal record than her previous efforts: AIM is about getting to a place where you find peace and happiness. It’s about learning not to be revengeful, bitter or racist. This album is about the belief that no matter what happens to you, personally or professionally, the human spirit must be celebrated. The focus should be on how you can fix it, so that everybody checks their own actions

But AIM extends this pulse into deeper political territory than usual without the consistency needed to make this a hard-hitting political record with 20/20 vision. It’s a record detailing the need to move and the need for others to make way, but as her last musical statement? We’re left yearning for something bolder. Released at the tail end of last year, the single is the album’s most hyper-political track, all the more aided by its controversial video

The new album features Zayn Malik and production from Diplo. Knowledge love spirituality . will release her new album AIM on September 9. So far one of the biggest stories surrounding the release has been . s battle to get a track produced by Diplo onto the album but it looks as if she has been victorious in that fight.

released a Diplo-produced remix to her Bird Song single earlier today, and now she’s back with the official artwork and tracklist for her upcoming AIM LP. The 17-song project will include contributions from Zayn Malik, Dexta Daps, Diplo, Blaqstarr, and more. Foreign Friend (Feat. Bird Song Remix 14. . The New International Sound Pt. 2 15.

With this being her 'last album ever,' she definatelty went out with a bang. The production, the features, and the tracks itself are superb. This is her first album in a long time that has tracks that are fully world or dancehall-inspired ('Finally,' 'Foreign Friend,' 'Visa,' 'Ali R U Ok,' 'Swords,' and 'Survivor'). M.I.A. considers this her most 'pop' album because of tracks like 'Freedun,' 'The New International Sound, Part 2,' and 'Go Off.' The most memorable song on the album is 'Borders,' due to its subject matter and theme. (If you haven't seen the visuals for it, it's a must see!). Hopefully this isn't her last album, we need artists like her to stick around longer. Honorable mentions: "Ali R U Ok,' 'Finally,' 'Foreign Friend,' 'Freedun,' and 'Jump In.'

When I listen to the opening song "Borders", it remains me of the new collaboration song "Apeshit" by Beyonce and Jay-. It has surprisingly similar vibes and feel. It is kinda weird because this album was released in 2016 and I didn't listen to it through until 2017 and I haven't visited it often, in fact it was kinda disappointment. It is one part of the song "Apeshit" which makes me think "Borders" - the only part I like on it. But "Borders" is my favorite song on this album. I think it was one of the songs I heard before buying the album. It didn't feel an amazing song back then but still very good. "Go Off" is another great song. "Bird Song" is maybe the most experimental song of the album and a good one too. Overall, this album continues very OK till the end and even a good song "Foreign Friends" featuring Dexta Daps - the song which made me kinda sad feeling. The album is lots of about immigrants and racism etc. True M:i.A. we have got used to. These things are still relevant although in some Western countries it feels it is in control. There are countries where racism exists and the album reminds us of it. It is also a good way to remind us how our life would feel if we were discriminated in some way. The feel is very important here. The message is good but in some parts it feels like M.I.A. is recycling some ideas and it isn't as powerful as her earlier works. Maybe she got a little bit tired of this way to bring message, I don't know. Maybe the music isn't doing as much as it is thought to do.I have a 17 track version and it brings for example the song "Platforms" which is a great song and one of the best songs of this album.Could this be the last album one of the most influential artists of this century so far? I hope not.
