Symphony N. In C Minor, O. 3 'The Divine Poem': III. Jeu Divin: Allegro: Avec Une Joie Éclatante by Riccardo Muti/Philadelphia Orchestra. Le Poeme de l'extase, explored the idea of the joy of creative activity. The Fourth Symphony (composed from 1905 - 08) is cast in a single movement that grows in intoxication. Like the Le divin Poem, The Poem of Ecstasy has its own literary poem that is the foundation of the music.

Alexander Scriabin's The Poem of Ecstasy (Le Poème de l'extase), Op. 54, is a symphonic poem written between 1905 and 1908, when Scriabin was actively involved with the Theosophical Society. It lasts about 20 minutes. Scriabin sometimes referred to The Poem of Ecstasy as his "fourth symphony", although it was never officially called such and avoids the traditional division into separate movements.
