We all remember the great duets. Save Your Love by Renee and Renato, Welcome Home by Peters and Lee, Orville’s Song by Keith Harris & Orville The Duck. But the art of the duet also has its place in rock’n’roll. The song that Dylan first recorded in 1963 for his second album The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan was remade six years later as a duet with Cash. Most extraordinary of all, in this meeting of two major figures in American music, is the complete lack of ego in the performance. It is a simple song, beautifully sung: the two voices, Dylan’s reedy, Cash’s deep, in perfect balance.

Text by Keith Caulfield, M. Tye Comer, Mariel Concepcion, Jessica Letkemann, Jason Lipshutz, Jillian Mapes and Chart Beat Columnist Gary Trust How This Chart Was Created: The 40 Biggest Duets of All-Time list includes songs that feature two singers sharing equal vocal duties on the track. Ranking is based on actual performance on the weekly Billboard Hot 100 since the chart launched in August 1958. Songs are ranked based on an inverse point system, with weeks at No. 1 earning the greatest value and weeks at No. 100 earning the least.

His first album, Earnest Pugh Live: A Worshipper's Perspective, was released via a distribution agreement with Detroit's Crystal Rose Records label. The radio single Wrapped Up, Tied Up, Tangled Up rose to the Top 40 on the now defunct Radio & Records gospel radio chart and lay the foundation for his career. He followed up the next year with a CD entitled, Seasons Change, that failed to chart. In 2007, his album, A Worshiper's Perspective, won Best Gospel Album at the 6th Annual Independent Music Awards.
