At the time, the band were primarily amateurs, consisting of pianist/leader Bell, cornetist Roger Bell, Ade Monsborough on valve trombone and clarinet, clarinetist Don "Pixie" Roberts, Jack Varney on banjo and guitar, Lou Silbereisen doubling on bass and tuba, and drummer Russ Murphy. However, after the festival ended, they stayed in Czechoslovakia a bit longer, playing locally and becoming professionals. The group, which had recorded just one previous album, was documented on two recording sessions in that country for the Czech Supraphon label; all 14 selections are on this Swaggie LP.
