13. The Pillars of Drear. At the end of the song "In Dark Purity", someone (most likely Jason) whispers "get the gun, get the gun, shoot shoot shoot", which is a dedication to Ozzy's fiasco with the parents of a kid who shot himself while listening to his song "Suicide Solution", which supposedly had those words subliminally embedded in it. There are 5 different versions of the CD. 2 European versions, one without lyrics and mistakes in song titles, and another version with a shape disc saw blade, lyrics and correct song titles.

There are few changes on In Dark Purity from the elements found on Millennium, their previous offering. The guitarwork is less self consciously technical, making it feel a bit more focused and consistent, while also allowing for some improved riffs with the somewhat more controlled approach.

In Dark Purity (1999) by Monstrosity. Labels: Conquest Music, The Plague. Genres: Death Metal Members: Jason Avery, Jay Fernandez, Jason Morgon, Kelly Conlon, Lee Harrison. However the label was a rip-off label and therefore Monstrosity later re-released it over The Plague Rec. While being featured in the album photo Tony Norman did NOT record the guitar tracks. All guitar tracks on "In Dark Purity" were performed and recorded by Jason Morgan and Jay Fernandez (ex-Brutality), all music was composed by Fernandez and Lee Harrison.

The band’s third album In Dark Purity saw them utilizing another vocalist, since Fischer had joined Cannibal Corpse. The musical style is almost un-changed since their previous offerings, so it won’t change anyone’s opinion drastically, especially because of the excess of songs, Slayer cover included.Highlights: “Suffering to the Conquered”.
