Rodgers and Hart were an American songwriting partnership between composer Richard Rodgers (1902–1979) and the lyricist Lorenz Hart (1895–1943). They worked together on 28 stage musicals and more than 500 songs from 1919 until Hart's death in 1943. Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart were introduced in 1919, when both attended Columbia University, when asked to write an amateur club show.

Composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist Lorenz Hart were a songwriting duo from New York, New York. Active from 1919 to 1943, they wrote an incredible amount of musical comedies for movie and theatre. Among their best known songs are Blue Moon, My Funny Valentine and The Lady Is A Tramp. When Lorenz Hart died in 1943, Richard Rodgers teamed up with Oscar Hammerstein to form Rodgers & Hammerstein. The Supremes Sing Rodgers & Hart is the eleventh studio album released by The Supremes for Motown in 1967. The album is wholly composed of covers of show tunes written by the songwriting duo of Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart. The album was the final album released before The Supremes' name was changed to "Diana Ross & the Supremes," and member Florence Ballard was replaced by Cindy Birdsong. It reached in the USA and ultimately sold around 500,000 copies.
