Without Feathers is the second album by Montreal indie rock band the Stills. It was released May 9, 2006 by Vice Records. The album was produced by Gus Van Go. Emily Haines from fellow indie band Metric appeared on "Baby Blues," while Jason Collett of Broken Social Scene and Sam Roberts were featured on the track "Oh Shoplifter". The album debuted at No. 6 on the Top Heatseekers chart, but failed to hit the Billboard 200. In Canada, the album did not fare well on the charts

Aves appears to primarily be influenced by Alcest (specifically their first album) and Amesoeurs, the post punk and post rock vibe is present throughout the music, being a domineering force for the direction of the music. The music is upbeat, happy and easy to listen to, there's nothing touching metal-esque aggression or harshness, the black metal elements are none existent, contrary to what others might have you believe. As a result the music feels stripped down, removed of its vitals, it feels safe, contrived and all together a fraud.

Feathers create dark reverb laden psychedelic dream pop with a sixties garage edge and have performed alongside international bands including Real Estate, Best Coast, Earthless and Dead Meadow as well as many local and interstate acts including Blank Realm, New War, Witch Hats and Deaf Wish.

The album was part of a series of thirty pike albums that were released in close succession from one another during 2013
