When the band had their trio of hit ballads on Get a Grip, it really should have been a warning to the buying public that their time was up. Before this was released the record buying public was subjected to "Blind Man" from the "Big Ones" greatest hits album. That did not bode well for Nine Lives and the dread is backed up with a collection of throwaways and hook-less songs. This once mighty band had begun chipping away at rock bottom and it was only about to get worse.
At its best, Nine Lives is the best experimental album Aerosmith ever made. At its worst, however, it sounds like a band coming apart at the seams. Featuring many different styles and influences, Nine Lives does manage to be an entertaining piece of work. The problem is the album stretches on a little long and some of the songs are a bit overindulgent and the music almost turns into white noise at times. Still not without its charms though. Key tracks are Falling In Love (Is Hard On The Knees), Taste Of India, The Farm, Pink, and Attitude Adjustment.
Huele a psicodelia.
